Being a parent is often one of the most challenging and rewarding roles in life. Similar to any other relationship, as parents, we must nurture, guide, and cultivate our connection with our children. We all want the best for our children—happiness, the excitement of life's adventures, and good health. As a therapist, I provide support through the Positive Parenting Program system, which is designed to prevent overutilization and inefficiency. This system offers a variety of programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of parents, ranging from light-touch guidance to more intensive intervention. It also emphasizes self-regulation and self-sufficiency. Through the Positive Parenting Program system, parents acquire the skills needed to become effective problem solvers and manage challenges confidently on their own, reducing the reliance on ongoing practitioner support. Especially for our younger clients, I strongly encourage parents to actively engage in the treatment process. Parents and caregivers play an indispensable role in a child's life. My role is to offer guidance on how to best support and nurture your child during this phase. When necessary, we can collaborate to mend and strengthen relationships. When working with teenagers, trust is of utmost importance. It's crucial for everyone involved to understand that what your teenager shares in their individual therapy sessions remains confidential unless I believe their well-being is at risk. However, should important issues arise, I will work together with your teenager to address these matters with you directly, always maintaining a respectful and cooperative approach. Empowering them to find their own voice is a vital step toward developing the confidence and maturity you desire for your child.
